77th VFW Transforms into the 20th VFW - Oct.6th,2008
We would like to announce at this time that the former 77th VFW has transitioned over to the 20th VFW. We have done this to enable us to reflect a more realistic Military type of Virtual Fighter Wing. This is going to be reflected in our Procedures , which reflect actual F-16 USAF procedures, and our Wing will now also encompass full Military Rank structure, including individual pilot records similar to proficency reports for each member of the 20th VFW. The 20th VFW will now be made up from three individual Squadrons. The 77th: which will be our primary Air Defence Threat Squadron, the 55th: which will be our Air to Air Escort Squadron, and the 79th: which will be our Air-to-Ground Attack Squadron. All 3 of these Squadrons will be crosstrained and able to perform all missions as called for by the individual Mission Frags. In addition we will also have a 4th Squadron which will be the old 78th Squadron which was deactivated in June 2003 by the USAF. Orders have been issued for the reactivation of the 78th on October 1th, 2008 as the Fighter Training Squadron for the 20th VFW. This Squadron will become our 20th VFW. Training Squadron: here is where each new Pilot Recruit will initally enter and pass through on his way to enter one of the 20th Wing Squadrons for actual Combat Duty.
We have modeled the 20th VFW as closely as possible from the actual 20th Fighter Wing, from Shaw Air Force Base,South Carolina which is one of the largest F-16 Wings in the U.S.A.F.
Our recuitment doors are open and we are initally looking for people who are interested in this type of structure, and Pilots with some Falcon experience to fill up our Pilot rosters in all three Squadrons. So if this sounds like it would be interesting to you, and you are willing to devote your time to integrate into our system, then we would be very interested in talking to you about the possibility of bringing you onboard into the 20th VFW.
