Default IVC, port 21, and Linksys router help

OK, so far, I am able to use and connect via rapace launcher. However, my port 21 tcp is not open (according to pfportchecker) and I cannot use IVC through my router consistently (I was able to do it once, but not sure how).

In order to use IVC, I have to remove my linksys wireless router (wrt45g) and connect straight to the net.

I have port forwarded all appropriate ports on the router, but when i check port 21 tcp, it says closed. I called my cable internet provider and they do not block any port 21 tcp or udp.

I use a password to log onto my wireless internet incase that helps id the trouble...

thanks for any help!

So...I did some experimenting and I may have arrived at an acceptable level for IVC throught my router...Although, I would appreciate anyone willing to help me test before flying

My "fix" was to reset the router to default settings (although I prefer to have my router connection PW so random people dont join and clog my bandwidth). I went to the application and gaming tab and selected DMZ which exposes all of your ports to the internet...I guess its like forwarding ALL of your ports instead of just a few...

Now when i us PFportchecker to check my port 21 tcp, it shows open...so I guess thats a good sign. i just need someone to test it with me.

If anyone has any other info so that I dont have to reset my router every time i want to play falcon, Im all ears

thanks!

I have a lynksys although a different model.
Are you connecting wireless? I recommend a wired connection if possible.

I assume that you have set a static IP for your gaming rig.

here is what I have forwarded

Falcon 2930 - 2940 TCP & UDP a few more than required but works for me
Teamspeak 8767-8767 UDP
Rapace 2934-2936 TCP

That's it for me.

Be sure also allowed in any FW program that may be running.
hope this helps
