New Recruit

I would like to announce that we have a new recruit to the 20th VFW..His callsign is Pkells..He has been sent a "20th Welcome Packet" and also been notified since he is running Vista OS that he will be requireed to do a dual boot to his syestem with XP also, to make IVC work for him..So please welcome him to the Wing ..Glad to have you join us Pkells!

Sorry about the delay- I've been busy here on base, and am still trying to get reliable internet set up. I look forward to flying with you guys, and in the meantime I'll get to doing a little practice on my own.

Shaw actually. I'm currently assigned to the real life 20th FW, in a comm squadron. I work on all of the airfield systems (ILS, TACAN, and all the other good stuff).

I actually came across this site by accident, and learned about Open Falcon. I was really into flight sims in the late 90's/early 00's, but kind of fell away from them. I got back into it with FS9 last year after looking into real life flying, and then started playing IL-2 with people from another site. I figured I might as well get back into the modern-day sims, and I had always wanted to get into F4. Plus, I see the birds flying everyday here, and figured it just made sense.

It is a little overwhelming with the amount of detail in this sim, but I'm getting through it. Right now it's just learning the start up sequence. The docs in the welcome package are great, and I finally found some more info in the install directory too. I have to admit though, it is pretty cool seeing the pilot's side of all the equipment I work on.

I was planning on reformatting soon anyways, so the dual boot shouldn't be a problem. I just need to get a better internet connection. Tethering my iphone doesn't really count.

Well if you need a hand getting the dual boot working just ask. Jump on TS as soon as you can and introduce yourself and get to know these guy's.
After all this wing was formed as an honor to all you that serve.
